Starting at school we were in the swimming pool to learn about lifesaving and personal survival; vital skills will stay with students after they leave school. That was the start of what was to be an adventurous and exciting week. One of the aims of the week was to show students alternative activities that they could take part in and around the UAE as part of a healthy active lifestyle. Activities that we hope they would be enthusiastic about and want to carry on after the week and school had ended.

After school we headed to Al Forsan International Sports Resort for some alternative activities. The first was paintballing. Obviously not a watersport, however we used this as an introduction to push students out of their comfort zone, to do things they had never done before. When you are out of your comfort zone, you realise what challenges you and more importantly how to overcome these challenges. After this we headed over to the wakeboarding pools; there was not one person who did not have the courage to have a go at this sport, even if they were not the best of swimmers or they had not done it before. Everyone finished the day very proud of themselves and ready to enjoy the next day and what challenges awaited them.

It has been a wonderful time this afternoon at Al Forsan, paintball was lots of fun but we were too many people that's why at the end of the session my face and shoes were completely yellow!!! Wakeboarding was lots of fun too, I have never had so much fun

It was such a great journey today, we went kayaking at the mangroves and everyone was splashing each other, I went up to Mr. Horsburgh and threw water at him, but it wasn't a good idea. He took his revenge by throwing me in the sea. It was freezing!!! But the funniest thing was seeing Mr. El Gomri flipping Mr. Ahmed's and Mr. Horsburgh's kayak, HILERIOUS!!!!!!!! Then we all went to the beach at the Corniche and we played a volleyball match, students against teachers and guess who won, Students

OMG!!! I felt I'm in WW1 during the paintballing just like the "no man's land" that we study about in English classes, the decoration was amazing as well as our team... The game was perfect and the score was 1-1...
The wakeboarding was as amazing as paintballing especially when u feel u r not safe somehow, I had fun, I was the only one who was screaming for no reason :P, it was a refreshment after a long time under the sunlight, but I expected more...

I had so much fun doing paintball- an awesome way to spend time with friends by shooting them! I didn't get to do wakeboarding as I had to do kneeboarding first, and being dragged through the water at the first time was enjoyable. After you get it right, the adrenaline is unending! I had a blast on the first day and it was an amazing way to kickstart the cas week.

A brilliant way of starting the watersports CAS activities is with paintball, and what heaps of fun that was! The pain was so worth it! We then moved on to wakeboarding, and something about it made me continue trying, no matter how many times I wiped out. But since I was a beginner, I had to do kneeboarding first, and it blew me away- the amount of fun it contained, unbelievable (didn't wipe out here though). A tiring day, but worth of every second!

Today we went to the Wadi Adventure where we did body boarding on very high waves and Mr. El Gomri showed his surfing skills, then we did rafting and we almost flipped our boat in the rafts. And at the end we went on the Air Park, 14 metres over the sea level followed by the zipline that runs over the whole park. It has been a wonderful day

I enjoyed kayaking through the mangroves because there were many turns and bends that we had to negotiate. The splashing wars were definately a favorite. Although the Corniche activities didn't go as planned... But rain and clouds didn't stop us from having fun! It was a great day and I'm looking forward to the other activities!

Wadi Adventure was definately worth the early wake up and two-hour drive. Bodyboarding wasn't at all what I was expecting- I ended up riding tsunamis! White water rafting was loads of fun with us battling the currents and getting soaked in the process. In the still waters, we flipped and had some sort of a war battling to stay on top of the raft or inside it and not letting others in! The airpark was challenging and I enjoyed every moment of it! Ziplining across the water was a sure highlight of that experience. One thing is for sure- I am coming back to wadi adventure for the thrill once more!
